Life Liberty & Justice For All

We live in a county where we have the illusion of freedom. We are really on liberty’s leash…

What ever happen to justice for all. It is the year 2016, and we still have two Americas. On one side some feel as though racism does not exist and on the other side we feel it is all to prevalent. If you are black in America you have unwritten rules made up of things you can and can’t do. If you don’t abide by these rules you could end up dead. Will racial profiling every be a thing of the past?

We watch charges be dismissed again and again only to prove that a life lost has no value. It was their fault they say. They should have never resisted.

This war we fight is spiritual. Spirits of fear and rebellion are at work. Drawing us further apart. I pray for compassion, I pray for peace. In a world that is full of hate and anger, I pray that we learn to show love. I pray we can show sympathy. I pray we see people for who they really are.

“Jesus love the little children. All the children of the world. Red, yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.”

Temptation

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
James 1 KJV
http://bible.com/1/jas.1.14.KJV

Is it worth it? Is it worth taking the chance? Is it worth letting it change you? Is it worth a little piece of you dying inside? Is it worth chiseling away at your character?

Because if you go down that road, you will have to surrender who you are to become someone else. You will become calloused to the behavior until it didn’t bother you anymore.

How far are you willing to go? How deep do you think you can go before you drown. Will you ever recover?

How often have you heard the story good girl gone bad. You have to think to yourself how long did it take for her to realize she had crossed over. How long did it take her to look in the mirror and realize she didn’t recognize herself anymore. How long before it was too late to turn back to the innocent one she used to be.

Your inner desires sit dormant until they can be used against you. The only way to keep them under control is to deal with the very thing you want to ignore. We all have temptations, things we secretly struggle with. Things we hope no one will find out about. Don’t let the enemy use them against you. Fight for freedom before you fall victim to the battle of your mind.

Fear Has Been My Drug!

I love this quote!

#lifelesson1. It’s ok to be afraid but don’t let fear cripple you from accomplishing your goals. Stop thinking about what others think and live to please an audience of one! Jesus!

#lifelesson2. Complacency is not contentment. We have to strive to be better and greater. We should be our biggest competition.

#lifelesson3. Growing is a part of life. Just try it in faith even when you have no idea of what you are doing. Trust God to guide you through the process.

#lifelesson4. Envision yourself accomplishing your goals! See yourself in the future and truly believe you can have better because you deserve better.

#lifelesson5. Struggle is a part of the process. You can have more because you worked harder for it. You may struggle, but it will be worth it.

#lifelesson6. It’s all in your mind. We sike ourselves out of our blessing when we assume it’s to hard to reach. My biggest enemy is the inner me!

#lifelesson7. Don’t let the devil make you think it is harder than it really is. You have gifts and talents. You are important. You have a contribution! You are more than you give yourself credit for.

#lifelesson8. Don’t let the spirit of laziness and procrastination rule your life. Seize every opportunity and take advantage of resources you have available to you.

#lifelesson9. Keep going! Most of all, don’t let resistance and failure weigh you down. If things are not coming together try the alternative. Figure out a way to accomplish what you set out to do.

#lifelesson10. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.” ‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭AMP‬‬

I am really talking to myself, I just thought I would share this with you. I am in recovery. Fear has been my drug of choice, what’s yours??

Jigsaw

Puzzle are fun said by no one ever. Not unless you like a challenge. They way I see it is God created a perfect picture image for our lives. Instead of giving us all the pieces at one time he scrambled them letting us put our lives together piece by piece.

The only problem is you never got to see the original image. You have to start from corner to corner working your way to the middle. Hoping that it fits. Hoping that you get it right. Hoping that you meet the right people along the way to share some insight on how the pieces fit together. Will it ever be finished?

It’s nice when you have a partner to help. But maybe they just create a more challenging puzzle. Because not only do you have to complete your puzzle but you have to help them complete their life’s puzzle too. While all the pieces are scattered everywhere.

No picture perfect image for me yet. Just two individuals trying to make sense of what it means to love. What it means to be kind. What it means to have something worth fighting for. What it means to stay. What it means to be selfless. What it means to have hope. You may see two people who have it all together. What I see are two people trying to make the pieces fit. Is it a sure thing? Are we even working on the same puzzle? I don’t know…but neither one of us are willing to leave the table.

Healing For Your Soul

The Hospital is a place where sick or injured people are given care or treatment and where children are born, according to Merriam-Webster. It is the place we go to seek medical experts on our conditions. We don’t know everything about our bodies so when we have a need we must seek treatment.

We understand this to be true in the natural but what about the spiritual. Where do we go when our spiritual man is ill, where do we go for treatment? Who is the expert in matters of the heart.

My pastor has often told us that he would rather be in church than the best hospital. At church we have seen many people healed from sicknesses and diseases. It doesn’t just stop there,  the church is a place to find healing for your soul.

When you feel burdened down and discouraged, the church should be the place you are uplifted and find peace. Whatever you are being tormented with, God can free you! Or maybe you are struggling with the everyday challenges of life, God can give you joy in times of sadness!

It’s not about the people that attend because that’s not why you go. Often times the people sitting on your row are as sick as you are. They are wounded people looking to be made whole just like you.

When I step into a church service the first thing on my mind is entering his gates with thanksgiving and praise. My desire is to be in his presence. There is something powerful when people come together to worship the Lord. When praises go up, the Blesser comes down to meet your needs. He comes to heal, restore, renew and transform you.

It is in that service where you can be born again. If you let go and let God you will see a change. Forget about who is around, or who may be looking at you and get into the presence of God!

It’s right and good!

Its right and good!

Someone once said when life gives you lemons make lemonade. Easier said than done. When life’s issues rise up it is easy to get discouraged. Maybe you prayed for something and it’s not happening quick enough. Maybe you’re in a season where it seems like everything you do fails. Or maybe you lost a love one or you are battling an illness. This is the time God will show you what you are made off. You are stronger than you think.

It is not always easy to see God’s master plan. The awesome thing is that he knows what we will face before we ever face it. We must remember where our strength comes from. When we try to do it alone we realize just how weak we are. God’s strength is perfect. He is our source and all of our help comes from him. I promise you if you rely and lean on him, he won’t let you down.

People will ask you where are you getting all this strength from, if I went through what you went through I would be a mess right now, how are you holding on…and your reply will be by the grace of God.

Whatever the Lord allows in your life is right and good. Things will work together for your good. It may not be the outcome you expected but God knows all and see all. There is a bigger plan greater than what our eyes can see. There will be situations and circumstances that are just unavoidable but just know God holds the world in his hands and the times when you feel things are the hardest is when God is carrying you through.

Holiness or Hell

This is not going to be one of those holier than thou post. I don’t believe I am perfect by any means. I do try to live my life by Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” Romans‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is how I was brought up. The old saints would say you got to live right if you want to see Jesus. Now a days we want anything and everything to be acceptable.

To be holy requires holy actions. You have to act accordingly. You can’t do and say anything you want at anytime.

The word says “No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The grace of God is not a license to sin. I am grateful to serve a God who will forgive us when we fall but after that, he expects us to go and sin no more. If we continue to sin are we really a child of God?

As Christians, we are Christ representers in the earth. We are the only Jesus some people will see. Our lives are on display. Whether you are in ministry and have a title or someone who goes to church every now and then your life is no longer your own. Every thought and every action you do is no longer of your own authority.

You cannot accomplish this walk on your own. Your flesh has to die daily. When you give in to your thoughts, your ways and your desires you will slip up every time.

Remember those W.W.J.D. bracelets! They were designed with the idea that you would pause and really think about the action you were about to do. I know we are not Jesus but my prayer is that as we grow in Christ our minds are renewed, our thoughts transformed so that God is pleased and he get the glory.

A songwriter wrote the sentiments of my heart, “I want to live Holy so that I can live forever”. I want to see his face in peace. The word promises us this “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Get to know Jesus, open up your heart.   Learn of him! Find out what pleases him, not yourself. Your life is not your own. Present yourself accordingly!

Experience is the best teacher!

There is an old saying that experience is the best teacher. No one can take my experiences away from me. They are what has made me the woman I am today. My experiences with God at an early age is what has made me the believer I am today.

At a young age I would feel the presence of God so strongly. I didn’t know what is was. My parents were going through a divorce and I was in pain. God began to heal my hurt. He was drawing me and pulling me closer to him. By the time I was 8 or 9 I was hooked. I asked my parents for a bible for Christmas. There were things I would tell only God and then a prophet would come to our church and tell me everything I just prayed. I was convinced! It has been that way ever since. He is constantly showing me that he hears me, that he is concerned about me. No one can take that from me.

Someone once asked me would I be a Christian if I wasn’t raised this way. The answer is most definitely yes! I know there are many religions out there but only one of them says” Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”. (Matthew 11:28)  Rest for your souls! A true peace, no more suffering, deliverance from testing and trials of this world. The word says lets us strive to enter that rest so that no one may fall into disobedience. This rest is spiritual and eternal.

The Bible is not just a book. It is a living word. However, you can’t just open it and try to read it by yourself. You have to pray and ask God to reveal it to you. You have to pray for understanding. You have to turn on your worship music, get in his presence then open it up. Otherwise you may fall asleep, or think how can this apply to me. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

I mean this thing. I don’t play with God. It’s not an on again off again thing for me. I believe in God! I believe in Heaven! I believe in Hell! We serve a living God!He is always present! You may chose to ignore it but when you accept his will for your life you won’t see things the same again. The word of God says in Psalms 34:8, “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him”. Please try this thing for yourself. Maybe you are on the fence, unsure about what direction to go in. I promise you if you open your heart to him you will never be the same.
